A house that feels like home,
right beside the airport
Baan Rak started with one simple idea: that travellers deserve somewhere calm and personal during the gaps in their journeys.
Back to HomeOur Story
Baan Rak — Thai for "house of love" — opened on Thepkasattri Road in Sakhu in 2017, when the Srisuk family noticed a gap that no one had quite filled: a comfortable, personal place for travellers passing through Phuket Airport rather than staying in Phuket itself.
The original property had six rooms and a small sitting garden. Guests arriving on red-eye flights from Bangkok would knock at the gate, exhausted, and leave a few hours later looking like different people. That quiet transformation — the shower, the nap, the cup of tea — became the thing the family wanted to offer more of.
Today Baan Rak has grown to offer three distinct stay types, from a daytime rest room for short connections to a spacious suite for families with a full day between flights. The reception is staffed around the clock, the shuttle runs on a schedule that follows your flights, and the approach to hospitality remains exactly what it was at the beginning: unhurried, attentive and genuinely warm.
Our Mission
Care without fuss
We pay attention to what each guest needs and try to take care of it before they have to ask.
Calm in transit
A layover should feel like a pause, not a problem. Baan Rak is designed to give travellers back their energy before they board.
Honest value
Rates are clear, what is included is included, and there are no surprises at check-out.
The Team
Small enough to know every guest by name, experienced enough to handle every flight situation calmly.

Our Standards
The commitments that shape how we run every room and every shift.
Guest Privacy
Room details, arrival times and personal data are never shared. All records are held securely and used only for the stay in question.
Room Cleanliness
Every room is cleaned and checked to a written standard between each guest — fresh linen, wiped surfaces and a tested shower before the door opens again.
Safe, Reliable Transfers
Our shuttle partner holds a current Thai transport licence. Vehicles are inspected regularly and drivers carry identification guests can verify at the desk.
Fire & Safety Compliance
The property meets Phuket provincial fire safety requirements, with clear exit routes, working smoke detectors and extinguishers in place on every floor.
TAT-Registered Property
Baan Rak is registered with the Tourism Authority of Thailand as a licensed accommodation provider in Phuket province.
Open Guest Feedback
We invite every guest to share their experience after checkout. Feedback is reviewed by the management team and used to improve what we offer.
A Different Kind of Airport Stay
Travellers passing through Phuket Airport on long-haul connections or multi-leg journeys often find themselves with a window of several hours — too long to wait in the terminal, too short to head into Patong or the city centre. Baan Rak sits precisely in that gap.
The property is set on a quiet lane off Thepkasattri Road in Sakhu, the district immediately adjacent to the airport. Getting here takes a few minutes by car — short enough that a daytime rest room can genuinely refresh a guest before a connecting flight, long enough that the lane outside stays quiet even during peak travel times at the terminal.
What distinguishes Baan Rak from larger hotels on the airport perimeter is scale and intent. With a small number of rooms and a team that knows the property thoroughly, guests are not processed through a lobby but welcomed into a place that runs at a human pace. The room types were designed specifically for layover travellers — timed to flight windows, inclusive of the services that matter most (a shower, a bed, a warm drink, a reliable lift back to departures) and free of the extras that add cost without adding rest.
Families travelling with children appreciate the Long Layover Suite's separate sitting area and the team's willingness to track departure times so parents can relax without watching the clock. Solo travellers and couples tend to favour the Daytime Rest Room for its simplicity — arrive, shower, rest, leave refreshed. Business travellers on the Overnight Stay package often use the early morning breakfast and reliable shuttle to arrive at departures calm rather than rushed.
